This application REQUIRES the Stuffit Engine™ which is part of the Stuffit Deluxe™ Stuffit SpaceSaver™ and SITcomm™ packages.
This application is just a quick (15 minute) hack that I did for my own use and then cleaned up a little for distribution. The purpose of the application is to first comress and then binhex files for electronic distribution. It is intended to be used as a drag and drop application. You can use it to choose files, but not folders, from the 'File' menu.
After I had written this it turned out that Drop•Stuff (also part of Stuffit Deluxe™ package) also does this (I always use Magic Menu rather than Drop•Stuff). I decided to go ahead and distribute it because lots of people have the Stuffit Engine as part of Stuffit SpaceSaver™ and SITcomm™, but don't have Drop•Stuff.
There are no settings but you can modify the behavior of the application by holding down keys when launching it. Just like Stuffit Expander, if you hold down the Shift key you will be prompted for an alternative destination for the file. If you hold down the Option key the intermediary Stuffit archive will be deleted, leaving just the binhex file.
Most of this application is based on 'Drop Shell'. I have enclosed the readme for that package.
